DESCRIPTION:South Texas CattleWomen and Uvalde Festival and Events Association are honored to produce the 2018 Briscoe Ranch Cook-off at the Crossroads.\n\nThis year's event will take place December 7-8\, 2018 at the Uvalde County Fairplex. With the average high temperature in the mid 70's in mid December\, cooking conditions should be nothing but favorable for guests visiting the Crossroads of America.\n\nIn 2013\, the Senate of the State of Texas recognized the Uvalde cook-off as a Texas State Championship Barbecue Competition. Sanctioned by the International Barbecue Cookers Association (IBCA)\, BBQ teams will compete for cash and prizes.\n\nCompetition categories include beef brisket\, pork spare ribs\, chicken halves and jackpot ribeye steak. Prize money will be given to 1st through 15th places in the three categories of brisket\, pork spare ribs and chicken.\n\nWe look forward to welcoming top cook-off contestants from across Texas to Uvalde while supporting deserving Southwest Texas Junior College students through scholarship contributions across SWTJC's 11-county service area.
