DESCRIPTION:PLEASE COME JOIN US FOR OUR 13th ANNUAL RANCH RODEO!\n\nThe 13th Annual STRHA Ranch Rodeo will be held on Saturday\, April 22nd at 7:00PM at the Uvalde County Fairplex. Please make plans to come and watch the younger cowpokes participate in the Mutton Bustin'\, Little Ranch Rodeo\, and other youth activities\, and the ranch cowboys and cowgirls competing by use their everyday ranch application skills for your enjoyment. \n\n\n\nThe Southwest Texas Ranch Heritage Association (STRHA) is a non-profit organization that is dedicated to preserving the ranching history and traditions of Southwest Texas. We encourage this by offering scholarships to graduating students in the area that show an interest in farming\, ranching\, and other fields that relate to our rural lifestyle. \n\nThe first ever STRHA Ranch Rodeo and Cowboy Horse Race held in the spring of 2005 was a great success. We started with the purpose to entertain and educate\, along with the hopes of helping fulfill some educational dreams of our area youth. The racetrack grandstands at the Uvalde Fairgrounds were filled for the first time since the 1970's and we were able to give three (3) $1000.00 scholarships to area graduates. We have continued and improved on this tradition over the years\, expanding our efforts by purchasing animals at the Uvalde County Jr. Livestock Show. In 2016\, our foundation bought numerous animals at the local Livestock Show as well as gave ten (10) $1000.00 scholarships. Collectively\, we have returned some $60\,000 to the area youth in the form of various scholarships and stock show animals purchased over the past decade.
